What is the “yellow card” ?
The “Sunshine Customer Card” has a UPC code on the back which identifies all your
purchases. Using your personal customer number saves time for you and enables
us to keep track of your order and purchase history. If you are placing an order
and forget what you purchased last month, or last year, we can help you out with
this information. We track styles, colors, sizes and other criteria to help us
plan production based on these preferences and trends.
Which credit cards do you accept?
Sunshine accepts all major credit cards: American Express, Optima, Visa, Mastercard,
and Discover.
What are your store hours?
Check out our “Store Locations” section for all pertinent information on the store
which serves your school.
Can I buy clothes from Sunshine that are plain (or generic) for my child
that is not in a “Sunshine” school?
Absolutely! We carry a full line of classic items suitable for all students from
pre-kinder through high school –(many adults like our durable yet fashionable
clothes, too!). Ask our Customer Service Associates to help you.
How do I wash “Sunshine” clothes?
“A little bit of care goes a long way” in Sunshine’s garments. Follow the care
instructions in the garment. Clothes are “aged” more by washing than by wearing
(especially in the dryer). We suggest warm or cold water, pre-treat spots with
a non-chlorine bleach. Machine dry on warm (not hot) or line dry. Many items such
as sweaters, sweatshirts, etc., look better when washed “inside out” so lint does
not attach to the front, or outside, of the garment.
If my child attends a “non-Sunshine school”, can I buy from Sunshine?
We are delighted to serve anyone who wants to purchase our clothes, particularly
for “generic” items such as polos, shorts, boys’ pants, girls’ slacks, skirts,
skorts, culottes, jumpers, dresses, sweatshirts, sweaters, blazers, socks, etc.
without a logo. We can embroider logos only for “Sunshine” schools.
What is a “special made”?
Sunshine carries a wide range of sizes (regular, slim, husky, etc.) styles, and
“cuts” that are suitable for all body types…from pre-K two-year olds through high
school students of all sizes and shapes. If a student needs a garment that is
outside the wide range of sizes available, we can make a “special made” garment
(there is a small, extra charge per garment as this is cut and sewn to your specific
measurements). Because Sunshine carries such a wide range of sizes and cuts, “special
mades” are rarely needed and yet always available as we are the manufacturer of
our own uniform line and provide this service “in-house”. If you need extra attention,
ask to speak with a company supervisor.
Why do I need a different size than I wear in my street clothes?
Every manufacturer makes their clothes a little differently. Perhaps you can wear
a size 6 jacket from an expensive line of clothes but need a size 10 from a moderately
priced jacket. Jeans and t-shirts have a different fit and feel than polos and
slacks. Allow us to fit your student in the correct “Sunshine” size for each item.
We both want your student to look good and be comfortable in their clothes, have
room to grow and meet the school’s dress code guidelines.
Are your clothes really better than what I can buy on sale?
Yes! There is an entire package of service that goes along with the purchase of
a required school dress or uniform program. Continuity = being able to obtain
the same style, color, cut on an ongoing basis. Availability = all year round,
not just as seasonal “fill-in merchandise”. R&D (Research and Development) = Sunshine
continuously works to improve fabric blends, color richness, etc. and incorporates
some “fashion” items into our line. Many Sunshine garments have special soil and
stain release treatments and growth features that extend the life of a garment
by enabling you to let down a generous hem or let out a specially-designed waistband.
Personnel = Sunshine employees know Sunshine merchandise; personnel in department
stores rotate from working in clothing today to small appliances tomorrow. Commitment
= you have our attention 100% of the time. Providing the best school uniform program
at the best possible price is our only business.
How many outfits do I need to purchase?
Good question. The ideal situation is to have at least five tops and five bottoms
so you wash only once a week (it’s in the washing that most clothes age). Augment
that with approved outerwear and accessories and you are set. When you add up
the cost of “fashion” clothes (even purchased on sale) vs. the cost of school
uniforms, school uniforms save money, especially over time and with pass down
possibilities.
What is “resaleable” merchandise?
Items you wish to return must be in the same condition as when purchased so you
would want to purchase them again. Tags still on, no alterations or washing and
free of “extras” such as cuts, crayons, glue, etc.
What is your refund & exchange policy?
Merchandise must be in resaleable condition with original tags and not altered
or washed. Receipt is required and returns and exchanges must be within 30 days
of purchase date. Policies are posted in all Sunshine stores.

What is your check policy?
- Personal checks must be imprinted with the name and address of the person
signing the check. The check signer’s physical address must be imprinted on the
check. No P.O. Box numbers.
- Valid driver’s license is required of the check signer. The person signing
the check must match the name imprinted on the check.
- Company checks can not be accepted.
- A $25.00 service charge will be applied to all checks returned by the bank
for insufficient funds, stop payment, or closed accounts.
Can I order over the telephone?
Yes. Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Our friendly and knowledgeable
Customer Service Associates will be happy to answer your questions and guide you
through your purchases.
